Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi Book Review

Hi everybody! I just finished an amazing book, Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. I’m not a big sci-fi book person and before this book, I hadn’t found a sci-fi book I really liked yet. This book changed by opinion of sci-fi books in general. It told such a well-written and awesome story!

It is told in two alternating points of view, but in the third person, between Aria and Perry. The setting of the book is a world with two different types of people: one with the Dwellers, who live their lives virtually, and one with Outsiders, who survive in their own ways on the land. The contrast between the two worlds was really interesting, and the contempt between the worlds was pretty interesting, too.

Both worlds had advantages and disadvantages. Also, both main characters in the book, Perry and Aria, were extremely likable and are definitely a couple you wanted to root for. They didn’t like each other at first, because of what they are, but their relationship and feelings towards the other slowly changes over time. I loved their relationship! It seemed so honest and sweet.

This book was also full of amazing twists and surprises. There were several parts of the book that caused me to laugh out loud or tear up. I read this book from cover to cover in a few hours. I am already eagerly awaiting a sequel, and I am so unbelieveably excited for it to come. However,  the only negative I found in this book was some reference to some bad things and some gore. Also, I think Aria could have maybe been developed a little bit more. Overall, though, this book had way more good than bad, and I really enjoyed this book! I highly recommend it. I give it 41/2 out of 5 flowers.

Happy Reading!!!

Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she's never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.
Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He's searching for someone too. He's also wild - a savage - but might be her best hope at staying alive.
If they can survive, they are each other's best hope for finding answers
“You drink from a rabbit and you think i smell?”

“They were like her rocks. Imperfect and surprising and maybe better in the long run than certainties. Chances, she thought, were life”
“She looked up. “A world of nevers under a never sky.”
She fit in well then, he thought. A girl who never shut up.”
