Switched by Amanda Hocking Review

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Switched by Amanda Hocking, so I was so happy when I got a copy from Lisa at Diznees book blog :D I read it right away and I thought it was definitely a good book!
The book follows the life of a girl, Wendy, who discovers she’s a Trylle, and as a baby was switched at birth. Trylles are basically trolls, but they look like and are pretty similar to humans. However, they can use persuasion and other cool powers on humans. Wendy not only finds out she's Trylle, but that she’s also expected to be their princess. Also, the guy in charge of taking her to Trylle is really cute. He refuses to consider dating Wendy, though, because of the fact that she’s better than him class-wise.
At first, I found the main character, Wendy, to be pretty unlikeable. She didn’t seem very nice and was too stubborn. Over time, though, I liked her a lot more as a character. She seemed to become more kind-hearted and changed a lot over time. I really loved her older brother Matt, and thought he was amazing :) Also, the main guy character, Finn, I didn’t find that great. He didn’t fight for Wendy or seem to care to much about her. The plot was fascinating; it was such a unique, cool idea! I’d give this book three stars. Besides some issues I had with the characters in the book, Switched was a good read :)
Happy Reading!

When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy finds out her mother might've been telling the truth. With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - and it's one she's not sure if she wants to be a part of.

Teasers:

“How did you even know I wasn't in my room?"
"I checked on you." Finn gave me a look like I was an idiot. "I check on you every morning."
"You check on me when I'm sleeping?" I gaped at him. "Every morning?"
He nodded.
"I didn't know that."
"Why would you know that? You're sleeping," Finn pointed out.”

  1. I kinda had to force myself to finish this :-/ I'm not usually one to not finish a series, but I don't know if I'll be reading the other two.

    1. I'm not really sure if I'm going to finish the series, either. It's not as good as I though it would be.

  2. I couldn't finish this one. The plot wasn't for me and Wendy was really annoying
