Onyx by Jennifer Armentrout Book Review

Onyx (Lux, #2)
Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

I’ve been counting down the days until Onyx was released for forever, so I was super excited when I finally received it in the mail :) I read through it in a few hours. Unsurprisingly, it was absolutely amazing!

In Onyx, instead of Daemon trying to push Katy away, he tries to win her over. At the same time, a new guy (Blake) moves into town, that Daemon doesn’t trust, even though Blake’s taken a liking to Katy. Also, the DOD show up, complicating matters further.

Onyx was even better than Obsidian, something I didn’t even think was possible. I loved seeing a whole new side of Daemon, since he was no longer trying to push her away any more. The romance and snark was also still really amazing. Daemon and Katy are so amazing together and make such a good team! Katy was still an amazing character, and I love the fact that she blogs. She grew so much throughout the book! I loved seeing who she became. There were certain time when I was annoyed with different decisions she made, but that helped make her who she was. She wasn’t a perfect character :)

One of the main differences between Obsidian and Onyx was that Onyx definitely was more tense and dark. There are a lot more serious problems occurring throughout the book. A lot more dangerous things happen in the plot. Jennifer Armentrout manages to throw in things that you never see happening. During this book, I laughed, I cried, and I was in well- shock. There are so many more emotions explored in all the characters, especially Daemon and it proved to be a spectacular story! :)

I’d highly recommend reading Onyx (and Obsidian), if you haven’t yet. The Lux series has quickly become one of my favorites and won’t let you down. I’d give Onyx five out of  five flowers and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing story that you’ll be blown away by! :)

  3. OH MY GOD!! Montana, didn't you just LOVE this!!!! AWESOMESAUCE REVIEW! I couldn't have said it better myself! I absolutely loved Katy...and you're right one of the main reasons why I like her so much is because she is a flawed character and NOT like every other perfect heroine! As for Daemon...well....let's just say he's sexy, he's hilarious, he's awesomeness to the extreme and with his sweet side thrown in..I LOVED HIM EVEN MORE! You'd think that's not possible, but it is! LOL ;p I'm so glad you enjoyed it! *fingers crossed* Opal will also blow us away! :D
