Dare You To by Katie McGarry Cover/Summary

I was on Goodreads, and I saw that Dare You To, the second book in the Pushing The Limits series, had a cover and summary. It sounds so amazing! :)

"I dare you..."

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and goi
ng to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

What do you think of the cover and summary?

Secrets After Dark by Marie Higgins Book Review

Secrets after Dark
Residing at Thornton Manor under the premise of courting Jonathan Thornton, Hannah Forester intends to find out who murdered her father—and why. After all, Jonathan’s brother Morgan was the last
person to visit Peter Forester before his demise. But upon her arrival at Thornton Manor, Hannah is informed that Morgan perished the previous year in a house fire. She soon learns the manor is full of s
ecrets: a ghost haunting the East Wing, a white wolf that roams
the grounds by night, and the story of a curse-protected treasure on the neighboring island. Most disturbingly, Hannah discovers that numerous young women have visited the manor only to vanish without a trace.

When a hooded, deep-voiced man visits Hannah’s bedroom late at night, warning her to leave the manor for her own safety, she realizes he must be Morgan Thornton. But why does he hide in the East Wing, and why does his family insist he is but a ghost? As Hannah falls in love with the handsome older brother, she must continue to court Jonathan in order to remain at the estate. Can she convince Morgan where her true loyalties lie? And will she uncover the Thorntons’ secrets quickly enough to solve her father’s murder
before she loses her own life?

Thorn Abbey

an’t get over his loss.

warnings, she falls for brooding Max.

I love the cover for this book. I think it's so pretty, and for some reason the cover makes me think of Jane Eyre, and the title sounds mysterious ;) Also, the premise is great! I'm guessing Becca's probably a ghost, but I'm excited to see whether or not I'm right. What are you waiting on? :)

Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Books For 2013

Hi! This is my first time participating in this meme, and I love the topic for it :) Here are my most anticipated books:

Unraveling Isobel by Eileen Cook Book Review

Unraveling Isobel
Isobel’s life is falling apart. Her mom just married some guy she met on the internet only three months before, and is moving them to his sprawling, gothic mansion off the coast of nowhere. Goodbye, best friend. Goodbye, social life. Hello, icky new stepfather, crunchy granola town, and
unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits stepbrother.
But on her first night in her new home, Isobel starts to fear that it isn’t only her life that’s unraveling—her sanity might be giving way too. Because either Isobel is losing her mind, just like her artist father did before her, or she’s seeing ghosts. Either way, Isobel’s fast on her way to being the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson Book Review

Valkyrie Rising (Valkyrie, #1)
Nothing ever happens in Norway. But at least Ellie knows what to expect when she visits her grandmother: a tranquil fishing village and long, slow summer days. And maybe she’ll finally get out from under the shadow of her way-too-perfect big brother, Graham, while she’s there.
What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip. Nor did she imagine boys going missing amid rumors of impossible kidnappings. Least of all does she expect something powerful and ancient to awaken in her and that strange whispers would urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle on a summer sojourn in Norway! And when Graham vanishes, it’s up to Ellie—and the ever-sarcastic, if undeniably alluring Tuck—to uncover the truth about all the disappearances and thwart the nefarious plan behind them.
Deadly legends, hidden identities, and tentative romance swirl together in one girl’s unexpectedly-epic coming of age.

Altered by Jennifer Rush ARC Tour

I recently got to read an ARC of Altered by Jennifer Rush, which I loved! I thought it would be fun to try out hosting an ARC tour, so more people can get the chance to read this amazing book. It comes out January 2, 2013 and here's the premise for it:

Altered (Altered, #1)

When you can’t trust yourself, who can you believe?

Everything about Anna’s life is a secret. Her father works for the Branch at the helm of its latest project: monitoring and administering treatments to the four genetically altered boys in the lab below their farmhouse. There’s Nick, Cas, Trev . . . and Sam, who’s stolen Anna’s heart. When the Branch decides it’s time to take the boys, Sam stages an escape, killing the agents sent to retrieve them.

Anna is torn between following Sam or staying behind in the safety of her everyday life. But her father pushes her to flee, making Sam promise to keep her away from the Branch, at all costs. There’s just one problem. Sam and the boys don’t remember anything before living in the lab—not even their true identities.

Now on the run, Anna soon discovers that she and Sam are connected in more ways than either of them expected. And if they’re both going to survive, they must piece together the clues of their past before the Branch catches up to them and steals it all away.

To sign up to be part of the ARC tour, just fill out the Google Form below. Sign-ups will be through November 30, and I'll be shipping out Altered the next day. The only requirement for this tour is to live in the US and and either be a book blogger or post book reviews on Goodreads/Amazon.

This book is coming out in a little over a month, so I think it might be best to limit the tour to 5 people. Depending on how many people do sign-up, there can always be more people on the tour :) If it gets to be too much, I'll post the people who were selected for the tour on this page.

If you don't know what an ARC tour is, it's where you'll get loaned a copy of the book to read, and then you send it off to someone else so they get the chance to also read it.

The rules for the ARC tour will be:
-Delivery Confirmation must be used when mailing out an ARC to the next person on the tour.
-When you receive the ARC, just send me an email so I can let you know who you will be mailing Altered out to next :)
-You won't be required to review Altered, although a review would be really appreciated!

*If you're confused about any of these rules, you can always email me at :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Have a great Thanksgiving! :)

Faced with a future trapped in another dimension, Anna turns to Rei for help. Opal by Jennifer Armentrout Book Trailer Reveal

I took part in the Opal cover reveal, so I'm excited to also participate in the Opal book trailer reveal ! :) Here it is:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Nantucket Blue
For Cricket Thompson, a summer like this one will change everything. A summer spent on Nantucket with her best friend, Jules Clayton, and the indomitable Clayton family. A summer when she’ll make the almost unattainable Jay Logan hers. A summer to surpass all dreams.
Some of this turns out to be true. Some of it doesn’t.

And instead of lying on the beach working on her caramel-colored tan, Cricket is making beds and cleaning bathrooms to support herself in paradise for the summer.
But it’s the things Cricket hadn’t counted on--most of all, falling hard for someone who should be completely off-limits--that turn her dreams into an exhilarating, bittersweet reality.
A beautiful future is within her grasp, and Cricket must find the grace to embrace it. If she does, her life could be the perfect shade of Nantucket blue.

Release Date: May 7, 2013

Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris Book Review

Unraveling (Unraveling, #1)Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed--as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she's opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn't possible, she knows--with every fiber of her being--that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.

But her revival, and Ben's possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI agent father's files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something--but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what's right in front of her: Everything that's happened--the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben's sudden appearance in her life--points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she's going to need to uncover Ben's secrets--and keep from falling in love with him in the process.

From debut author Elizabeth Norris comes this shattering novel of one girl's fight to save herself, her world, and the boy she never saw coming.

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White Book Review

Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1)
Evie's always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours.
But Evie's about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

Which Cover? #1

Hi! I thought it would be fun to post about different book covers every once in a while :) Recently, it seems like a lot of books have changed their covers. What do you think of the new covers?

My Opinion: Both- I like the colors for the first cover, but I think the second one looks great, especially the mouse!

My Opinion: Newer- I love the newer cover! It looks really pretty, especially with the water. I don't like the colors on the first cover as much.

My Opinion: Older- I still have to read this series, but I think the older covers are beautiful and shiny. The new covers look kind of plain.

Two Reviews: Rockoholic by C.J Skuse

She's got it bad, and he ain't good -- he's in her garage?
"I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me..."
Gonna have to face it: Jody's addicted to Jackson Gatlin, frontman of The Regulators, and after her best bud Mac scores tickets, she's front and center at his sold-out concert. But when she gets mashed in the moshpit and bodysurfs backstage, she's got more than a mild concussion to deal with. By the next morning, the strung-out rock star is coming down in her garage. Jody -- oops -- kind of kidnapped him. By accident. With a Curly Wurly candy bar. And now he doesn't want to leave.
It's a rock-star abduction worthy of an MTV reality series...butwho got punk'd?!

Waiting on Wednesday: The Art of Wishing by Lindsay Ribar

The Art of Wishing
He can grant her wishes, but only she can save his life.

Margo McKenna has a plan of attack for everything, from landing the lead in her high school musical to dealing with her increasingly absent parents. But when she finds herself in possession of a genie's ring and the opportunity to make three wishes, she doesn't know what to do. Especially since Oliver--not blue-skinned, not bottle-dwelling, but a genie nonetheless--can see more than what she's willing to show him. With one peek into her mind, he can see the wishes that even Margo herself doesn't know she wants.

But Oliver comes with more than just mind-reading abilities, a flair for magic, and the prettiest eyes Margo's ever seen. Someone from his past is hunting him--someone bent on killing him, along with all the other genies in the world, for the sake of honor. And as Margo soon discovers, it will take more than three wishes to save him.

A whole lot more.
The Art of Wishing sounds amazing! I've never read a book about a genie before, so I'm really excited to read this. March seems so far away... What are you waiting on? :)

Breathe by Sarah Crossan Book Review

Inhale. Exhale.
Breathe (Breathe, #1)Breathe.
Breathe . . .
The world is dead.
The survivors live under the protection of Breathe, the corporation that found a way to manufacture oxygen-rich air.

has been stealing for a long time. She's a little jittery, but not terrified. All she knows is that she's never been caught before. If she's careful, it'll be easy. If she's careful.

should be worried about Alina and a bit afraid for himself, too, but even though this is dangerous, it's also the most interesting thing to happen to him in ages. It isn't every day that the girl of your dreams asks you to rescue her.

wants to tell him that none of this is fair; they'd planned a trip together, the two of them, and she'd hoped he'd discover her out here, not another girl.

And as they walk into the Outlands with two days' worth of oxygen in their tanks, everything they believe will be shattered. Will they be able to make it back? Will they want to?

Luminosity by Stephanie Thomas Blog Tour

My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.
The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.
The enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I'm falling in love with him. He says they're coming. He says they're angry. And I think I've already helped them win.

Blogger Interview: The Romance Bookie

Hi everyone! I recently interviewed Mandy from The Romance Bookie. She's a really awesome blogger :) Here's the interview:

Describe yourself in five words.
Reader (obviously ;)), devoted, shy, nice, and polite (haha I suck at describing myself)

What’s your favorite book by Meg Cabot? :)
Ooh…I'm guessing this is a question specifically for me ;).  There are just SOOOO many favorites by Meg, but if I had to choose only one (and I've read over 50!!), I'd have to pick the one I've read the most and that is the third Princess Diaries book, "Princess in Love".  However, her "Heather Wells" series is also awesome!!
I'm very biased when it comes asking for my opinion on a Meg Cabot book, lol.

What are your favorite blogs to visit?
Hmm…there are SOOO many awesome blogs out there!! The ones I go to often are The Story Siren, The Book Belles ;), Kody Keplinger's (The author of "The DUFF", and "A Midsummer's Nightmare"), YA-Aholic, In Between Reading and Writing, and I am a Reader, Not a Writer.  So many others too though!!

Out of all the book events you’ve attended which one has been your favorite?
Hmm…hands down Passion and Prose in February.  There I got to meet Meg Cabot (who I've been dreaming of meeting since picking up my first Princess Diaries book in 2005), Marissa Meyer (Cinder) (I actually got to sit right next to Marissa and talk and eat lunch with her), Beth Revis (Across the Universe), Andrea Cremer (Nightshade), Marie Lu (Legend), Jessica Spotswood (Born Wicked), and Sara Etienne Wilson (Harbinger).  However, the Gayle Forman, Stephenie Perkins, and Nina LaCour event was also awesome! It was where I got to meet a new blogger, under the name The Book Belles ;)

Without my blog, I will admit though I don't think I would have had the opportunity to go to these awesome events, only because I probably wouldn't have heard about them!  Passion and Prose was a dream come true for me, such an awesome day!

(for more here is the link to my recap:

When you are in a reading slump, is there a certain book or genre you turn to?
When I'm in a slump, which is pretty rarely, because I don't really have the option when I've got over a hundred books on my shelf that I haven't even read yet, I usually turn to a Meg Cabot book or the Twilight Series, or Kody Keplinger's "The DUFF"!  Love the Princess Diaries, Twilight Series, and "The DUFF", I usually read those at least once a year each. :)

What has been your favorite blogging moment so far?
My absolute favorite blogging moment…SOOOO many!!  But among them was hosting Meg-a-Readers this past summer, which was honoring Meg Cabot!  Meg was so awesome, she sent me a package with a personalized letter thanking me and Diana (over at Little Miss Drama Queen (  Then all the awesome interviews I've gotten to do, including one with Meg, Kody Keplinger, and Miranda Kenneally.  Those were all pretty surreal and awesome!! :)

Getting all these awesome signed books!! My collection has grown SOOO much since starting in December of 2010.

Oh and having a video chat with Kody Keplinger!! That was awesome!! :)

If you could choose any book to be made into a movie, what book would you pick? Who would you cast in the movie?
TOOO many!!

Kody Keplinger's "The DUFF" is one.  I love Kody's choice for Bianca, she would choose Mae Whitman (Parenthood, Tv show).

Also Simone Elkeles's "Perfect Chemistry".  I'm not sure who'd I'd want to play Alex or Brittany, but Simone's models are pretty awesome! I really believe this one would make an awesome modern day "West Side Story"!!

And I'm waiting for a "Heather Wells" TV show from Meg Cabot's series!! :) Too many to name lol!

I'm SUPER excited for both "Breaking Dawn Part 2" and "City of Bones" next August!!!

What’s the most recent book you’ve read, and what did you think of it?
Well, currently I'm rereading the Twilight Saga, which I like to do each time one of the movies is released.  I'm currently on "New Moon".  Never get tired of that series, lol.

But the most recent book I read, that I hadn't read before was Rachel Harris's "My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century", which was super cute!!
