Override Blog Tour:Guest Post

Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be part of the blog tour for Override by Heather Anastasiu, the sequel to Glitch. I asked Heather about her biggest inspiration for writing Glitch, and I loved her response. I hope you will, too :) Here it is:

My biggest inspiration for writing Glitch was that I wanted to write a character who got to experience emotion for the first time. I thought that would be such an interesting character, and so much fun to write the scenes where she feels some new emotion, so that readers get to watch it happening on the page.
For me, this is a parallel to my own experience as a teenager. Obviously I wasn’t feeling all emotions for the first time, but when I became a teen, all of the sudden, everything seemed so much more vibrant and tragic. I began to feel so passionate about everything, it was like I hadn’t known real emotion until that point in my life. And it was shocking—beautiful things seemed so much more beautiful, and sad things so much sadder. I wanted to experience everything, and the whole world and all of my life was ahead of me. I’d sneak out of my house at two in the morning and go for long walks around my deserted neighborhood, just thinking about things and feeling deeply. I’d stop my car on the side of the road if there was a beautiful sunset and just stare and stare and stare, filled up by the beauty and glory of the moment. I’d scribble for hours on end in my journal, preferably by candlelight.
I know, I know, I was kind of an emo teen! But basically through all that I was trying to figure out who I was and who I wanted to be. Zoe goes through a very similar process. Except, you know, she’s got people out to kill her all the time ;)

Here's some more info about both the book and the tour:

Zoe is free. She has escaped the enslavement of the Community, disconnected from the hardware that had controlled her every thought and emotion, and evaded capture by the Chancellor intent on killing her. She is finally free, but she is far from safe.
Zoe and Adrien hide themselves from detection at the Foundation, an academy that trains teen glitchers to fight in the Resistance movement. Together, Zoe and her new team of superhuman fighters must risk their lives to rescue other glitchers and humans from the Chancellor's control. Challenges abound at every turn, and Adrien, who has become silent, distant, and tormented by his visions of the future, only adds to the growing certainty of defeat. But worst of all, as Zoe's team fights against impossible odds, distrust and betrayal leads to the terrible discovery that their greatest threat could already be lurking behind the safe walls of the Foundation.
Full of high-adrenaline action and shocking twists, Heather Anastasiu's Override is an exciting continuation of this popular young adult trilogy.

  1. Unfortunately I did enjoy Glitch so much. I hope that Override is going to be better for me. Thanks for the guest post and giveaway :)

  2. hmmm....I think just being able to feel and have emotions is my fave. Thanks!

  3. I haven't read Glitch yet. Can't find it near me, and don't really want to pay shipping, LOL. But both books sound great. I think just being in control of your own actions and emotions would be the best glitch.

Hi! Thank you so much for commenting, I read each and every comment and love reading them :) Also, I'll comment back as soon as I can. Happy Reading!
