Katarina Bishop and W.W. Hale the fifth were born to lead completely different lives: Kat comes from a long, proud line of loveable criminal masterminds, while Hale is the scion of one of the most seemingly perfect dynasties in the world. If their families have one thing in common, it's that they both know how to stay under the radar while getting--or stealing--whatever they want. No matter the risk, the Bishops can always be counted on, but in Hale's family, all bets are off when money is on the line. When Hale unexpectedly inherits his grandmother's billion dollar corporation, he quickly learns that there's no place for Kat and their old heists in his new role. But Kat won't let him go that easily, especially after she gets tipped off that his grandmother's will might have been altered in an elaborate con to steal the company's fortune. So instead of being the heir--this time, Hale might be the mark. Forced to keep a level head as she and her crew fight for one of their own, Kat comes up with an ambitious and far-reaching plan that only the Bishop family would dare attempt. To pull it off, Kat is prepared to do the impossible, but first, she has to decide if she's willing to save her boyfriend's company if it means losing the boy.
Ally Carter is one of my favorite authors, and Perfect Scoundrels helped remind me why. Perfect Scoundrels was an amazing addition to the Heist Society series :)
I normally don't like books written in third person too much, but in Perfect Scoundrels it works so well. Kat is still a great main character, and I loved seeing more of the relationship between Kat and Hale. There was a much greater focus on that in Perfect Scoundrels, which I loved. Kat had to make some pretty hard decisions, and the choices she made really helped show her growth as a character.
The storyline also captivated me, just like how all the other books in this series have. It was a more unique heist, with a large part of the case concerning Hale’s family. The story was definitely more emotional, and Hale was just as amazing as always. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of reading about him. He's one of my top favorite book guys.
Kat’s family and friends (who help her in the heists) are also so great in every book and make up their own family. With this case being pretty complicated and twisted, it took a lot of them working together to try to figure it out. It’s so easy to feel connected with the characters and I always become invested in their next big heist ;)
Perfect Scoundrels is an incredible addition to the Heist Society series. It has both great characters and an awesome heist. I’d give it 5 out of 5 flowers.
