Which Cover? #4

Hi everyone! It's the fourth edition of Which Cover? For this edition, all the covers I picked are cover changes from hardcover to paperback. Here are the covers :)

Venom by Fiona Paul
Venom (Secrets of the Eternal Rose, #1)
My Opinion: Both- I love both covers :) I think the colors and mask on the first cover are really pretty, but the newer cover is also gorgeous!

Take A Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg
Take a BowTake a Bow
My Opinion: Older- I like how well the lights and stage represent the book in the older cover. I feel like the newer one is pretty generic.

Keep Holding On by Susane Colasanti
Keep Holding OnKeep Holding On
My Opinion: Newer- I think the new cover is super cute! I love the heart drawn on the hand.

The Name of The Star by Maureen Johnson
The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1)The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1)
My Opinion: Newer-I don't really like either cover too much, but I like the shade of turquoise the newer cover is.

Which covers do you prefer? :)

  2. I don't really like faces on the cover, despite the fact that her mask is gorgeous, I'm going with the new cover from Venom! I don't like both covers from Take a bow, but the first one is better. The same for Keep holding on and the name of the stars!
The first cover reflects the story much better in my opinion.

  3. I totally agree, I love the two new covers for The Name of the Star and Keep Holding On, but prefer the older one for Take a Bow. Those lights look great!

  4. This is such a mixture, how interesting! I like the old Venom one; I think it just stands out more than the tiny silhouette people. I also think the old Take a Bow is more dramatic.
But I like the new cover for Keep Holding On, it's more cutesy then just a guy with a girl against the lockers (lol).
The typography for the last one (new) is cool, but I agree I don't really like either one.
I think this feature is really cool, and highlights how not all changes are better!

  5. Hmmmm...well for Venom I like the first one. I like both for Take a Bow. I like the second cover for Keep Holding On - it seems more romantic than the first one. And I like the first cover for The Name of the Star
    Cool post!!!! :)

  6. I really like the first cover for Venom and Take a Bow. I like the second cover for Keep Holding On and I'm not a fan of the covers for The Name of the Star but I think I'll have to go with the second one.

  8. Venom is so much better in hardback! Otherwise, all the others look better the second time around :)

  9. I like Older - Venom, Newer - Keep Holding On, Older - Take A Bow, and definitely Newer - The Name of the Star. I don't know what they were thinking with the original Name of the Star cover because it's pretty ugly... A great change in my opinion!

  10. I like the older one for for Venom. I can't bwelieve they even changed it.The new one looks awful. The rest I like the newer ones better. Though I can see your point on Take A Bow, but the new one looks clean.

  11. So I read and loved In The Name of the Star. But I kept looking at the front cover and wondering how the publisher could have gone with something that is so far removed from the story. It's beautiful, but...who is the redhead? Why is there a Victorian gentleman ghost?
And then the other cover tells no story whatsoever, though the lettering is pretty.
    Hrm.....

  12. I like all the covers old and new but I agree with you about The Name of the Star. The covers aren't all that appealing but the turquoise colour is definitely eye catching.

    Awesome choices, Montana! :D

  13. Venom by Fiona Paul - Love the original cover.

Take A Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg - The original is nice. The newer one is blah.

Keep Holding On by Susane Colasanti - The original one is cute. Don't care for the new one.

The Name of The Star by Maureen Johnson - Personally, I like the original. But, I reckon they decide to use the newer design for the entire series.
