Which Cover? #5

Hi everyone! This is the fifth installment of Which Cover? There's been so many cover changes lately! Here are a few of them:

Anna and The French Kiss/Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Lola and the Boy Next DoorLola and the Boy Next DoorAnna and the French KissAnna and the French Kiss
My Opinion: Newer- I think the newer covers are just so cute and pretty! I liked the older covers, but the new ones really stand out to me.

The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg

The Catastrophic History of You and MeThe Catastrophic History of You And Me

My Opinion: Newer- This is one of my favorite books I read last year! It's so amazing :) Although the old cover does a great job of representing the book, the pink and gold locket on the newer cover are beautiful.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

My Opinion: Older- I like the blue on the older cover, and I feel like the newer cover isn't as eye-catching.

Starters by Lissa Price
Starters (Starters and Enders, #1)Starters
My Opinion: Newer- I don't like either cover that much, but I think I'd definitely be more likely to pick up this book based on the second cover.

Which covers do you prefer? :)

  1. I disagree with you on the stephanie perkins titles.. the old ones stood out while the new ones are all very similar.. Same with Starters.. the new one is just too weird. but I love the older version of Throne of Glass!

  2. I actually like the older Anna covers. They just have something so adorable about them, plus they have guys on them. lol ;p And I also like the older one for Throne of Glass. The new one is just too creepy for me. But everything else I like the new ones. I think they suit the book as a whole better.

    Thanks for sharing, Montana! :D

  3. For Anna and Lola, I like the newer! It's different and just looks whimsical, so I agree with you on that and also the second one (such a long title). I loved the book and at first, I liked the older cover, but definitely the newer now. And...well actually I agree with you on all of them. Older for Throne of Glass and newer for Starters!

  4. I actually prefer the first book cover to pretty much all of them except Throne of Glass. I think I like the second one better for that one :)

  5. I thought the older covers for the Stephanie Perkins' books were corny but I still really liked them, as much as I love the new covers I'm sad the old covers won't be in print anymore. I love the new cover for The Catastrophic History of You and Me, it's really pretty and I love the fonts. I prefer the old cover as well for Throne of Glass and I dislike both of the Starters covers.

  6. For Stephanie Perkin's books I like both covers, but I might prefer the new ones (I'm still deciding) because I can take them more seriously. I like the new version with the locket, it's very pretty! I may be wrong but I thought that the Throne Of Glass cover on the right was for the UK? Anyway, I'm not sure there. I like both. I agree, both covers are a little weird, but the second is better. I really like this post idea :D

    1. I think they made the UK version into the US paperback :)

  7. I also thought that Throne of Glass cover was UK. Are they really changing it? I like all the older covers best except Starters, I prefer the newer. I don't mind the new ones though. It only bugs me when they change the concept for a series half way through and only offer them in paperback while continuing to release the new ones in hardcover.

  8. I don't hate the newer cover for Anna and Lola but I'm not very fond of them either. I mean, they are beautiful, romantic and I adore the background with the scenery but the older cover were so iconic and just so fun I was really upset they changed it.

I haven't read Catastrophic yet, but I have the original cover and I have to agree! The older is pretty and fun while the newer one is gorgeous! I'd pick up both!

The new cover for Throne of Glass isn't really a new cover. It's just the UK cover made into the US cover so I wasn't all that impressed. While the newer cover represents Celaena more, I HATE the white background. It just meh. The older cover isn't all that special but I will always love it best.

I didn't know Starters was getting a new cover. While I don't like the white for Throne of Glass, I LOVE the white cover for Starters. It was the reason I picked it up in the first place. It's just creepy as hell. The newer cover just looks weird and I don't like the cover model either.

I honestly don't mind cover changes if it's for the good or bad but I hate how they do it right in the middle of the series! I like my covers to match and I just don't have the money to go out and buy a whole new set. No way. My OCD will just bite me in the ass every time I look at my mismatched covers. LOL.

  9. I like the first cover for Lola and Boy Next Door and the second cover for Anna and the French Kiss.

The Catastrophic History of You and Me, I can't decide. I like both of them. However, for Throne of Glass and Starters, I like the second and first. Starter's second cover kind of falls flat for me.

  10. Anna and The French Kiss/Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - I like the original covers. The newer covers don't do it for me at all...too blah.

The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg - I like both covers. But, the original cover feels more YA to me--and the newer one feels more adult--so, I prefer the original one.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - I love the one you say is the newer cover. I thought that it's actually the UK/Aus cover. I love how it looks like a manga girl.

Starters by Lissa Price - This is another original cover that I love so much, because it looks like manga-ish to me. I don't care for the colors of the other one.
