I love road trip books, so How My Summer Went Up in Flames sounded both awesome and hilarious! It turned out to be a super fun read, and although Rosie wasn't the most likable, it still made the perfect summer read.

Rosie ends up tagging along on a road trip with her best friend and two other guys to get away from drama back home. The drama is due to her accidentally set her ex-boyfriend's car on fire which causes a restraining order. I didn't like how much Rosie pined over her ex at first. It got frustrating and her behavior was pretty stalkerish. Her character is made out to be impulsive, but she did admit to being so. Her flaws definitely made her out to be an even more realistic character.

How My Summer Went Up In Flames was as hilarious as I hoped it would be and there are some particularly memorable scenes that make me laugh whenever I think of them. The road trip the characters take is a cross-country one and all the scenery described was really cool. It makes me want to take my own road trip ;)

There's some romance in the plot, especially considering that Rosie's on a road trip with three guys. The romance wasn't my favorite, but it was still fun to read about. I just didn't like the love interest as much as I hoped to. Her best friend, Matty, was definitely super sweet, though.

How My Summer Went Up In Flames is a cute read that I'd definitely recommend. It's lighthearted and features a very cool road trip that you won't want to miss. I'd give it 3 1/2 out of 5 flowers.

  2. I've been seeing some mixed reviews for this one but I think I'll give it a shot. It sounds pretty cute. I'm sad you didn't like the love interest all that much but at least the best friend is good. Great review!
