Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wish Had Sequels

I love this topic, because there are several books I've read that I wish had sequels. Here are all my picks:
Smart Girls Get What They WantSchool Spirits (School Spirits, #1)Thorn AbbeyTake a BowSecrets after DarkGoldenUnbreakable (Unraveling, #2)Team HumanThe Summer I Became a NerdMy Life Next Door

1.) Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer- This is one of my all time favorite books and I would love to continue reading Gigi's story. I also have some very special news regarding this book coming up soon ;)

2.) School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins-This is a standalone at the moment, but I think it has so much potential for a series!

3.) Thorn Abbey by Nancy Ohlin- I gave this book three flowers, but I definitely would have given it a higher rating if it wasn't a standalone. The ending had a huge cliffhanger.

4.) Take A Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg- This book was so much fun! I'd love to see how things would continue for the characters after high school.

5.) Secrets After Dark by Marie Higgins- I don't know if I'd want a sequel, but I think a companion novel would be really cool for this one.

6.) Golden by Jessi Kirby- This is another book where I think a companion novel would be really cool. I'd love to see what was up in Parker's life.

7.) Unbreakable by Elizabeth Norris- I think this duology would be much better as a trilogy. A third book with a really strong resolution would be awesome!

8.) Team Human by Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan- Team Human was hilarious and such a fun read! I would definitely pick up a sequel, if there ever was one.

9.) The Summer I Became A Nerd by Leah Rae Miller- This was a really fun read, and either a sequel or companion novel would be great.

10.) My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick- I feel that this book ended really abruptly and I want to see what happens after certain events in My Life Next Door.

Which books do you wish had sequels? :)

  4. Golden! I knew that I'd thought of a book and then forgotten it - that one has potential for a sequel! And then School Spirits! It's set up to be a series, or that's what it seems like, so it kind of sucks that there's not going to be a second one as of now!

And then My life Next Door! I think I would even go for a companion novel - and I think that the author has talked about possibly doing one for one of the characters!

    Great list!

  9. Yes about The Summer I Became A Nerd -- really want a companion, maybe focusing on Logan's sisters all grown up! I haven't read Thorn Abbey, but I totally know what you mean about cliffhangers. Some of them are so brutal and then you find out that there's no sequel, and it makes it twice as bad.

  10. Golden, Unbreakable, and My Life Next Door...Yes!! I kinda feel bad admitting it but I didn't like the very end of My Life Next Door because it just felt wrong and "abrupt" as you said. I loved every other thing and would love for a sequel :) I just picked up Smart Girls Get What They Want yesterday, I'm really excited about starting it! And now there are several of those that I must read, Team Human just sounds TOO fun.
