Hello everybody! Emily and Sara are teaming up today to give you an awesome Top Ten Tuesday! Today, we were asked to name ten sequels we can't wait to get our hands on. Of course, it would be impossible to name every single sequel we're excited for, (because we would be here awhile folks) but we've tried to narrow each of our lists to just five. So without further ado, here are our top picks!
It was really difficult to pick just 5 because let's
be real, there are too many good books coming out in the upcoming year. But I did my best. Here are five sequels I'm dying to read:
1.) The One by Kierra Cass: Once again, explanations are useless. Look at that cover, read the Elite, and tell me you're not ready for this book. It's not possible
2.) Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins: I guess this isn't technically a sequel, but it is a companion novel to two of my favorite contemporary reads ever. It's already been pushed back so long, I can barely hold on a couple more months. I love her stories and I can tell this one is going to be amazing!
3.) Cress by Marissa Meyer: Even if I hadn't adored the two previous books in the series, Rapunzel on the moon? Yes please.
4.) The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin: I don't even know why I have to explain the reason I want to get my hands on this book. If you've read the previous book, you know why I NEED this book.
5.) The Treatment by Suzanne Young: The Program was so much better than I expected...and it left me hanging. I need to know what happens next!
I just realized most of these books are the third books in series. Oh well! I still can't wait till they come out!
Sequels are always a little tricky because you want them to live up to the book. So there's that issue of them not living up or being good just not as good...it can be a bit confusing at times. But when it get it right? Perfection. And it's always great to get the next pierce of the story as well. So right now what are the sequels I'm dying to get my hands on??1.) Crash Into You by Katie McGarry: I was so excited to hear that Isiah would have his own story, I felt sad for him during Dare You To. This is, again, the third book in a series but I just felt like I had to use it.
Can I also just put out there that I've been dying for The One, Isla and the Happily Ever After, Cress, and The Treatment? Great picks Emily!
Oh hello there! My name is Emily, though some of you may know me as the Bookie Monster. As the name would suggest, I devour books like the Cookie Monster devours cookies. In my spare time, I like to bake cookies (and devour those as well) and dream about taking over the world. As if my book obsession wasn't life consuming enough, I work in the children's room at my l
ocal library and I am currently a sophomore in college majoring in English. It's safe to say I'm a bit of a book fanatic. I discreetly shed a few tears on my eleventh birthday when I did not receive my Hogwarts acceptance letter and I waited seven hours outside in the rain just to get a good seat at the Hunger Games midnight premiere. I'm terrified of blood and Disney movies make me cry (in a good way). My passions include hippos, hugs, and Hans Zimmer…and uh,long walks on the beach. I'm just a normal girl with a slightly abnormal and frightfully expensive obsession. Nice to meet you!
Sara Bennett happens to be a slightly crazy girl. A slightly nerdy girl. A slightly strange girl who likes being that way. A slightly obsessed girl when it comes to things she loves. A girl who cries when reading books. A girl who desperately wants her own personal library. A girl who is a total bookworm. A girl who would rather read than watch reality tv. A girl who wants to be an author someday. A girl who loves her Savior. And a girl who just loves to read.
