Release Date: February 4, 2014
Wait For You is one of my favorite new adult books, and J.Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout) is one of my favorite authors, so Be With Me was one of my most anticipated 2014 releases. However, too much drama and an unlikable male character definitely took away from the book for me.
I was really interested in both character’s stories, after being introduced to both Tess and Jace in Wait For You. Tess was a nice character, and I especially felt sympathetic to her loss of something she truly loved, dancing. Jace, on the other hand, ran so hot and cold. He treated Tess pretty badly at times, and I feel like his excuses weren’t reasonable enough. He’d apologize for various things only to do the same exact thing again.
The plot was interesting, but I felt like the drama ended up becoming too much. One thing after the other happened and especially concerning Jace’s and Tess’ relationship, I just wanted everything to be okay. The problems were all pretty intense, but there were some great new characters introduced.
Although I wasn’t a huge fan of Jace, I still enjoyed reading about their romance. There were some pretty sweet moments between them, although the book also had pretty heavy sexual content. You also get to meet Calla, too, who’s going to be the main character in Stay With Me. I’m already so curious about her story! I loved the cameos from Avery and Cam, too. They’re some of my favorite characters and their roles were perfect in Be With Me.
I’d still highly recommend this series, although I did enjoy Wait For You more than Be With Me. Be With Me is an exciting story, though, and I did read it in one sitting ;) I’d give it 3 out of 5 flowers.
