Perfect Couple by Jennifer Echols Blog Tour Stop

Perfect Couple (Superlatives, #2)Perfect Couple is #2 in the Superlatives series about seniors at a Florida high school who are selected for their class's superlative categories in the yearbook, and how the labels change the way they view themselves and alter the course of their lives.
Can your heart be put to a popular vote?
As yearbook photographer, Harper is responsible for capturing those candid mo
ments that make high school memorable. But her own life is anything but picture perfect. Her parents' bitter divorce has left her wondering what a loving relationship would look like. And ever since the senior class voted her and star quarterback Brody the “Perfect Couple That Never Was,” her friends have been on her case to ask Brody out.
Brody doesn’t lack in female admirers, but Harper can't see herself with him. He seems confused about why they were matched together, too. They’re total opposites—the last people in the world who would ever be compatible, let alone the “perfect couple.” Yet ever since the class paired the two of them, they've found themselves drawn together--first by curiosity, then by an undeniable bond.
The trouble is, though they're very attracted to each other and both of them admit this, they have a hard time getting along or even communicating clearly. If they’re the perfect couple, this shouldn’t be so difficult! Soon it becomes clear their class was wrong, and they throw in the towel. But after they walk away, both of them feel so changed from making the effort that they can’t forget each other. What if that means this match made in hell is the perfect couple after all?

Biggest Flirts was both my favorite Jennifer Echols novel and one of my favorite books of 2014. The ending of it left me especially excited for Perfect Couple. Therefore, I was so happy that Perfect Couple ended up meeting all of my expectations!

Harper is the quieter and more introverted friend in the trio of Tia, Kaye, and Harper. Due to the fact that I'm kind of quiet myself, I was able to relate the most to Harper. It was especially cute (and hilarious) that her match, Brody, was the complete opposite of her. I liked Brody and I thought he could be sweet, but he wasn't as lovable to me as Sawyer or Will are. Still, I loved how Harper and Brody were drawn together by their yearbook superlative at first, but then began to see more in one another.

The plot was just as entertaining as always! The romance is steamier but there are several other storylines throughout the book, as well. Despite Harper's stubbornness being frustrating at times, the overall message in this novel was a great one.

The only thing I need after reading Perfect Couple is Most Likely to Succeed ;) I want Sawyer to finally get his happy ending. If you haven't yet started this series, I'd highly recommend it and I'd give Perfect Couple 4 out of 5 flowers.

Favorite Quotes:
"I feel like I hardly know you, even though the senior class thinks you're the love of my life."
"Opposites may repel at first, but in the long run, they're the best thing for each other."

  3. I read another review for this novel earlier today, and if I hadn't already been sold on this one, I would be now after reading your review. It's such a shame that I have to wait a whole ten days to get my grabby hands on a copy though.

  5. I liked Perfect Couple. I agree it's steamier than some of her other Y.A. books, but I think what was portrayed in the book was in line with the characters and their actions.
